Summary

A pair of linear ditched cropmarks is visible on aerial photographs, to the south of Church Road, Sea Palling. These are likely to be drainage or field boundaries, not contemporary to one another. The date of these features is unknown, although they are possibly pre-medieval, as they do not fit within the general pattern of the medieval and post medieval field boundaries and enclosures within this area (NHER 36133).

September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A pair of linear ditched cropmarks is visible on aerial photographs, to the south of Church Road, Sea Palling (S1). The site is centred on TG 4315 2660. The date of these features is unknown although they are possibly pre-medieval, as they do not fit within the general pattern of the medieval and post medieval field boundaries and enclosures within this area (NHER 36133). However the ditches are broadly parallel with more modern features, such as the trackway to the west. The course of the two linears would suggest that they are not contemporary to one another. The longer of the two ditches or drains, 135m long, runs from TG 4279 2673 to TG 4279 2660. The shorter linear is 80m long.
