Full Description
Windmill marked on (S1).
Seen by E. Rose (NAU/NLA).
This was the famous Poringland Heath mill, which had the reputation of being the highest standing mill in the country.
It is also marked on (S2)
E. Rose (NAU/NLA).
In fact however both mills at Upper Sheringham and Briningham were on higher ground. It was replaced by a tower mill in 1825 and last used 1900. Demolished in 1906.
