Full Description
December 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A pair of World War Two air raid shelters is visible on aerial photographs from 1945, in the rear gardens of what is now The Oaks and 2 Magdalen Way (S1). The site is centred on TG 5185 0414. These shelters would presumably have been for the domestic use of the families.
The shelters, probably Andersons, is visible as extant earthen covered oblong mounds, approximately 3m by 2.5m. As the plot has been redeveloped since the Second World War it seems unlikely that any trace of the shelters remains.
S. Massey (NMP), 20 December 2005.
