A possible World War Two pillbox or gun emplacement may be visible on aerial photographs (S1) at the former intersection of the A143, Beccles Road, and Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Railway (NHER 13575) at Gorleston. The rectangular structure is centred on TG 5202 0492 and measures 5.5m by 4m. This structure no longer remains.
