Summary

A pair of World War Two air raid shelters is visible on aerial photographs within the back gardens of two properties on the High Street, Gorleston. These small earth covered shelters are probably Anderson shelters for the use of the family living in the property.

A pair of World War Two air raid shelters is visible on aerial photographs within the back gardens of two properties on the High Street, Gorleston (S1). The site is centred on TG 5269 0479. A possible rectangular air raid shelter is visible at TG 5269 0479 in the rear garden of 197 High Street, the structure is not as clearly defined as others in the vicinity, but it appears to have an entrance to the north. A second possible structure was also visible within the garden of number 196.
