Summary

In 2005 medieval pottery sherds were found during grave digging in the churchyard of St Mary's (NHER 1722). Subsequent metal-detecting between 2022 and 2023 recovered a medieval coin and a number of other metal objects, including a Middle/Late Saxon strap end; a Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorl and a medieval strap fitting.
