Summary

Earthworks of two undated, possibly medieval curvilinear drainage ditches or channels are visible on aerial photographs. The date of these earthworks is uncertain but the ditches or channels could be of medieval date. It is likely that they both had their origins as natural channels and were later incorporated into the drainage pattern.

Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of undated, possibly medieval curvilinear drainage ditches or channels are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TG 4572 0593 in an area of former marshland. Two curvilinear ditches or channels are present in this group of cropmarks. The northernmost of these is up to 5m wide and extends for approximately 210m on a meandering west to east alignment. To its south is a short section of narrow curvilinear ditch. The date of these earthworks is uncertain but the ditches or channels could be of medieval date. It is likely that they both had their origins as natural channels and were later incorporated into the drainage pattern.
