Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of two drainage ditches of medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TG 4544 0709 in an area of former marshland. The northernmost ditch or channel is curvilinear in plan and extends for 160m with a width of approximately 4m. It is flanked by earthwork banks on both sides. To its south is a linear ditch on a parallel alignment, that is also partly flanked by earthwork banks. It is likely that both of these drainage ditches are of medieval to post medieval date but they are not shown on the 1839 Halvergate tithe map (S2) or later maps.
