Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of linear and curvilinear drainage ditches of medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TG 4700 0668 in an area of former marshland. A curvilinear ditch flanked by banks extends on a roughly north to south alignment. This ditch flows towards Halvergate Fleet, a major curvilinear natural channel across the marshland. Leading into the curvilinear ditch from the southeast is a linear drainage ditch. A second angled linear ditch is also present further to the east. Only the curvilinear ditch was marked on the second edition 6 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S2). However, it is likely that all of these ditches are of medieval to post medieval date.
