Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of two possible late Saxon to medieval saltern mounds are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TG 4623 0695 in an area of former marshland. The largest of the two mounds has an irregular figure of eight plan that measures 66m by 33m. The second mound is sub oval in plan and measures 40m by 31m. It is likely that these are saltern mounds of late Saxon to medieval date. Other possible saltern mounds are located 100m to the southwest (NHER 17773) and 180m to the northeast (NHER 42198).
J. Albone (NMP), 24 January 2006.
