Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of linear and curvilinear drainage ditches and banks of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). These earthworks are centred on TG 4955 0628 in an area of former marshland. Some sections of both linear and curvilinear ditch are marked on the 1842 Bradwell and 1843 Burgh Castle tithe maps (S4-S5). These include ditches located at TG 4914 0610, TG 4929 0638 and TG 4976 0671. It is likely that some of the curvilinear ditches originated as natural channels and were later incorporated into the drainage pattern. It is probable that all of these linear and curvilinear ditches are of medieval to post medieval date.
