Map

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A possible World War Two gun emplacement is visible on aerial photographs on Gorleston Cliffs (S1). The emplacement is located on a path down through the wooded cliff side and from it’s elevated position it would have potentially overlooked the Pier and seafront, although this assumes that it had good visibility through the trees. The structure is centred on TG 5296 0352 and appears to consist of a light coloured emplacement, indicating either concrete or sandbag construction, rather than earthen. A central structure is also visible, presumably a gun.
S. Massey (NMP), 26 January 2006.
