Full Description
April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Several earthwork banks and ditches are visible within the ground of Heacham Park on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and BKS verticals from 1988 (S2). A ditch runs from TF 6793 3803 to TF 6791 3821. This appears to be a 5m wide hollow way or path leading to the Hall, as it coincides with the route mapped on the 2nd ed (1902-7 25”) (S3). A second ditch runs from TF 6791 3802 to TF 6782 3802. This is likely to represent a division of the park space, possibly relating to animal movement. Two banks are also visible. One from TF 6784 3801 to TF 6788 3792, which is up to 4m wide. Another runs from TF 6801 3784 to TF 6795 3790, this seems to be constructed alongside the route leading to the Hall.
