Map

April 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Group of large scale linear boundaries visible on 1967 Ordnance Survey photographs (S1). These consist of three roughly parallel north to south ditches, the longest of which runs for 740m from TF 6832 3955 to TF 6834 3881. The soilmark produced varies in width from 10m to 17, however much spreading by the plough has probably occurred. A narrower ditch (NHER 26889) cuts two of these north to south boundaries. The central linear is also cut across by two more sinuous linears to the north (centred on TF 6832 3930). These may also be field boundaries, although it is possible that they are natural gullies leading into the valley to the north. These boundaries are similar to other groups in the area (NHER 26891 & 26823), which are thought to probably date to the late medieval to post medieval period.
S. Massey (NMP), 25 April 2002.
