Full Description
August 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks visible on 1991 Ordnance Survey aerial photograph (S1) indicate three sides of a possible rectilinear enclosure, measuring up to 50m by 23m. A co-joined linear feature is also visible to the west. The date of these features is unknown, although surrounding cropmark sites (NHER 13010 & 13072) contain rectilinear enclosures thought to date to Late Iron Age-Romano-British period. This site may be part of the same area of settlement and fields, although too few cropmarks are visible for any certainty. The close proximity of sites of NHER 16478, Iron Age pottery, and NHER 25789, Roman roof tile, would also suggest this possible date.
S. Massey (NMP), 14 August 2002.
