Listing Description excerpt:
"House. Late 18th century/early 19th century. Brick with stuccoed front. Low-pitched pantile roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. One window. First floor sash without glazing bars in moulded case. Ground floor small early 19th-century splayed bay with cornice and glazing bars. Flush panel door on left. Included for group value."

This house is a narrow section of a larger house (No. 20; NHER 43883). The entrance is built over an alley, which at one time provided accces through to the barn behind No. 18. The house is rendered and pantiled at the front with a back extension protected by recent timber cladding. The building was formerly known as the sign of the Maid's Head in the 19th century and as the sign of the Plow in the 18th century.
