Full Description
Found around 1910 at Methwold Hythe by farmer digging a posthole on margin of fens.
Bronze rapier 40cm (16.25 inches) long uncommon form with stout heavy, almost parallel sided blade and narrow square ended butt like a rudimentary tang: two pairs of notches one pair shallow and the other deeper at base of blade (thickening). (S1) shows a same shape but smaller and lighter, simply a knife.
