Map

March 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A curved profile hut, perhaps a Nissen hut, is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S1)-(S4), centred at TG 5294 0669. It was located within what was then the garden of Seafield Court and could have been associated with the use of this building by military personnel or for civil defence. It is notable that similar huts are visible in the garden of the adjacent property to the northeast (NHER 43374). The hut was erected between February 1941 and March 1944 (compare (S5) and (S1)), and remained standing in 1948 (S3)-(S4). The area has since been built over (it is now occupied by Gainsborough Court) and no trace of the hut is visible on recent consulted aerial photographs of the site.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 9 March 2006.
