Full Description
March 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of two undated linear ditches, probably field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TF 7244 3547. The longest of the two ditches is aligned roughly northwest to southeast and extends intermittently for 194m. This ditch is aligned along the edge of a Bronze Age ring ditch cropmark (NHER 11894). It is likely that it was deliberately laid out on this alignment when the barrow was still visible as an earthwork. A second linear ditch is aligned perpendicular to the first and crosses it towards it southeastern end. These ditches do not appear to correspond to field boundaries marked on an estate map of Sedgeford dating to 1631 (S3) and are of unknown date.
