Summary

A bypassed broad (a flooded medieval peat cutting site), set within a large meander of the river Bure. Considerably larger in the 19th century, it now consists of a roughly C shaped area of water.

A typical bypassed broad lying within a substantial meander of the River Bure. It consists of a roughly C-shaped area of water. The broad was considerably larger in 1840 than it is today. It was originally between 3 and 4m deep.
