Full Description
March 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a curvilinear ditch of unknown date is visible on aerial photographs (S1). This cropmark is centred on TF 7016 3502. A curvilinear ditch cropmark is present for 170m between TF 7015 3510 and TF 7020 3494. This ditch is cut by a modern field boundary. An estate map of Sedgeford parish dating to 1630 shows this area as part of that parish, rather than Snettisham (S2). The curvilinear ditch cropmark does not correspond to field boundaries marked on that map. Although the date of this ditch is uncertain, it is likely to have a pre-medieval origin.
