Summary

A row of three coastguard cottages that were constructed around 1818. The cottages are two storeys tall, built of carstone and have pantile roofs. They form part of an enclosed court along with houses on Wodehouse Road (NHER 44235 and 44236).

Row of former Coastguard Cottages. About 1818 (datestone on Nos. 37 to 43 Wodehouse Road). Three two storey cottages. Squared and coursed carstone, red pantiled roof. Three ground floor three-light arched headed wooden casements with single glazing bar divisions. Three part glazed 19th century doors. All ground floor openings under carstone arches. Three first floor two-light casements divided by single glazing bar. Hipped roof, two brick axial stacks. Forming an enclosed court with 37 to 41 (odd) Wodehouse Road and No. 35 Wodehouse Road (NHER 44235) to east.
