Map

April 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A hut or temporary building dating to World War Two is visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred at TG 5261 0901. It was situated on a bomb site in a residential area of Great Yarmouth, at 54 Salisbury Road. The single-storey rectangular structure was probably associated with the civil defence of Great Yarmouth, and may have acted as an air raid shelter, temporary accommodation, or food station, for example. It was removed before August 1945 (S3), at which time the bare ground left by its presence and/or removal was still visible.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 11 April 2006.
