Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Earthwork bank visible on OS aerial photographs from 1969 (S1), running from TG 0874 4054 to TG 0856 4090 and is approximately 450m long. This feature may continue to the west but tree cover does not allow it to be visible from the air. The bank appears quite regular and is 5-6m wide. It runs alongside a drain, which appears to channel the course of a stream. This feature can be traced along the same course on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map (1902-7, 25”) (S2). It seems likely that this bank is related to the digging of this channel and is probably of post-medieval date. It is also significant that it marks the parish boundary between Holt and Kelling.
S. Massey (NMP), 21 January 2003.
