Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of ditched boundaries visible on OS aerial photographs from 1994 (S1). The main ditch forms an L-shape, measuring 63.5m by 158m, running from TG 0609 4289 to TG 0605 4285, at which point it turns a rounded corner to the south-east and continues to TG 0605 4284. There is a gap in the linear at this point although this is likely to be due to geological disturbance in the cropmarks. The ditch picks up again at TG 0606 4283 and continues along the same alignment to TG 0615 4278. There is another gap until TG 06155 42785 and the cropmarks appears to end at TG 0618 4276. At two places on either side of this main ditch are two narrower flanking ditches; one running from TG 0617 4276 to TG 0614 4278 and the other at TG 0613 4280 to TG 0610 4281. The date of these features is not known, however, it is possible that they are earlier land boundaries, possible defining an area of woodland or some such feature.
S. Massey (NMP), 24 January 2003.
