Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
An earthwork bank is visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). The bank runs from TG 0539 4505 to TG 0533 4501 and is 70m and between 3-6m wide. It is possible that this bank is part of the post-medieval embanking of the coastal areas. However the surface of the bank appears to be quite fresh on the 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). This may be due to it being incorporated into the World War Two defences (NHER 24184 and NHER 27752). This is also suggested by the fact that a possible line of barbed wire stops at the bank at TG 0537 4504.
S. Massey (NMP), 20 February 2003.
