Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two minefield is visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). The defence appears to have two different areas of mines have been laid. Centred on TG 0540 4500 is an area 115m by 30m of quite small densely packed mines. To the east is another linear spread of much larger mines, leaving a depression of up to 8m diameter. These run from TG 0543 4507 to TG 0545 4500. These mines would have defended the entrance from the beach during World War Two.
S. Massey (NMP), 20 February 2003.
