Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Possible pillbox and two rows of six anti-tank cubes in line along top of sea bank, visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). The cubes are positioned from TG 0597 4415 to TG 0598 4415 and they appear to be approximately 1.5m across. A further row of cubes is situated further north along the bank (NHER 27801). A square structure is also located at TG 0596 4412, measuring 5m across. It is likely to be a pillbox, possibly type 20, or a similar defensive position to defend the landward approach from the sea bank.
S. Massey (NMP), 20 March 2003.
