Group of World War Two military trenches visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1949 (S1). The trenches are located in a small triangular area of heath on the edge of Salthouse heath. The main feature is an earthwork castellated trench running from TG 0781 4244 to TG 0778 4246, measuring 32m long and 1m across. Shorter stretches of trench are also visible from TG 0779 4245 to TG 0779 4245 and from TG 0778 4244 to TG 0779 4244. An oblong pit, 4.5m by 3.5m, is located at TG 0778 4245. These earthworks are part of the World War Two defence and training activities on the heath.
