Summary

This late 18th century house has later additions and an earlier rear wing. It is built of flint and brick, has a date-stone from the 1780s, stands two storeys high and has a pantiled roof. It was once a shop and there are blocked shop windows and an access archway on the front. The roof includes a number of reused ships timbers.

Listing Description excerpt:
"House, formerly a shop, dated 178- on gable, 'L'-plan, rear wing earlier.
Front: colourwashed brick, pantiles; three bays, two storeys...Vehicular archway to first bay; wall between archway and second bay of flint, oak bressumer to rear. Right and left gables of coursed flint with some brick, internal end stacks, that to left starting above archway...Older rear wing of two bays, two storeys and attic, rendered flint, steep hipped pantile roof; axial stack abutting rear of front range...Interior: small opening with fixed leaded lights now internal at rear of front range; Large stack to rear wing abutting front range; three-tier butt purlin roof with collars in pine, some reused ships spars."
