A World War Two practice trench is visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and 1950 (S2). The trench runs in a zigzag course for approximately 115m from TG 0992 4215 to TG 0995 4206. This trench is likely to have been dug as part of training exercises on the heath.
