Full Description
April 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a possible ring ditch, which may relate to a Bronze Age round barrow, is visible on aerial photographs (S1). This cropmark is located at TM 3152 8919. The ring ditch is circular in plan with a narrow ditch and an external diameter of 23m. It is possible that it is of Bronze Age date and that it relates to a round barrow. The ring ditch is located on a gentle east facing slope at approximately 12m OD. Further ring ditch cropmarks are present 85m to the north (NHER 43606) and 270m to the northeast (NHER 17334). Two small possible ring ditch cropmarks are also present 160m to the west (NHER 43607). This ring ditch now lies partly beneath the earth bank surrounding a sand and gravel pit immediately to the west (S2).
