Map

May 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of ditches, probably medieval field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3032 8790. Two parallel linear ditch cropmarks are present on a roughly northwest to southeast alignment. These extend for up to 135m in length and are up to 6m wide. The northeastern ditch has a short ditch leading off of it to the northeast. It is likely that these ditches are field boundaries. They are similar in appearance and alignment to cropmarks of medieval field boundaries further to the northwest (NHER 43492). These ditches are located within the area of the medieval deer park (NHER 16277) and may pre-date its establishment. Several linear positive cropmarks cut across the northeastern ditch. It is not clear if these are related to the field boundaries, and they may be of natural origin.
