Summary

A 15th century psalter, possibly from the shrine at Walsingham, was found in the foundations of a demolished summerhouse in the gardens of Barningham Hall in 1756.

In 1756 a 15th century psalter was discovered hidden underneath a summerhouse that was being demolished. The psalter may have come from the medieval shrine at Walsingham and was hidden during the Reformation.
