A World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs located on the Herringfleet Road and Blocka Road intersection, Fritton and St Olaves (S1-S2). The pillbox was centred on TM 4637 9892 and was a type 22. A circular hole is visible on the centre of the roof and this may have been for a machine gun emplacement on the roof. This pillbox gets removed quite quickly after the war.
