Full Description

July 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of two small ring ditches, possibly relating to Bronze Age round barrows, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S7). These cropmarks are centred on TM 3434 9321. The western ring ditch is located at TM 3431 9321 (S1-S6). It has a sub-circular plan with a narrow ditch and an external diameter of 12m. The eastern ring ditch is located 75m further to the east at TM 3438 9322 (S7). It has a circular plan with a narrow ditch and an external diameter of 10m. It is likely that both of these ring ditches are of Bronze Age date and that they relate to small round barrows. They are located on a ridge at approximately 21m OD and form part of an extensive barrow cemetery (NHER 44844).
