Map

July 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Post medieval field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred around TG 4489 1717. As most are depicted on 19th-century maps (e.g. S3), only two have been mapped by the NMP. These fit the field pattern shown on the consulted maps, and are clearly of similar date, although their rather sinuous outline may reflect a medieval origin. The boundary marked by the northernmost ditch appears had its eastern end later pushed to the north. Both overlie the cropmarks of a much earlier field system (NHER 27331), which possibly dates to the Bronze Age.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 27 July 2006.
