Summary

The cropmarks of field boundaries of probable post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs to the immediate north of Sandy Lane, Aldeby. The boundaries follow the same alignment as those associated with the modern and post medieval landscape. These cropmarks possibly cut across other field boundaries, interpreted as being late prehistoric or Roman in date (NHER 12139). These cropmarks are located within a larger multi-phase cropmark complex, see NHER 44891 for details.

The cropmarks of field boundaries of probable post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs to the immediate north of Sandy Lane, Aldeby (S1-S2). The site is centred on TM 4592 9559. The boundaries follow the same alignment as those associated with the modern and post medieval landscape. These cropmarks possibly cut across other field boundaries interpreted as being late prehistoric or Roman in date (NHER 12139). These cropmarks are located within a larger multi-phase cropmark complex, see NHER 44891 for details.

The site consist of a coaxial arrangement of ditched boundaries which follow the pattern and alignment of those marked on the Ordnance Survey Second edition map (S3) (1902-7, 25 inch), mostly now removed.
