Full Description
August 2006. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer surveys of eight areas affected by the 'Puny Drain' flood relief scheme.
Magnetic anomolies were detected, although these were thought to be indicative of complex geomorphology, rather than archaeological features.
See report (S1) for further details.
J. Allen (NLA), 28 February 2007.
August 2006. Systematic Fieldwalking Survey and Window Sampling.
Further evaluation of proposed route of 'Puny Drain' flood relief scheme. Contexts 10-1190.
The surface survey collection did not find any significant scatters of medieval or earlier artefacts along the route of the proposed development.
No major peat or organic beds were recorded in the geoarchaeological survey.
See report (S2) for further details.
J. Allen (NLA), 7 March 2007.
See NHER 49130 for excavation in advance of the creation of a new compound for work nearby.
