Summary

Neolithic burnt and worked flints including twelve flakes were found here in 1915. The pit appears to have been extended since this time.

14 July 1915. Pit northeast of Hopton Point on road from Brandon to Watton.
Pure yellow sand at base merging into black sand which forms a layer of varying thickness all round the pit. In this W.G. Clarke (NCM) found several undoubted pot boilers around twelve flakes and two good implements, apparently Neolithic. Over this sharply divided from it was 15 to 30 cm (6 inches to 1 foot) of what was apparently chalky - boulder-clay - See (S1) which describes the site as Threxton), Norwich Library.

Pit now very overgrown and no section exposed. Surrounding field arable.
