1826. On tableland around 100yds (91m) east of Kett's Castle (St Michael's Chapel).
'British interment' found in centre of six conical hollows arranged in a circle. 'British Village'. Site of British Village and tumulus shown on Map 1. Buff coloured pot containing fragments of human bones found at St Leonards Hill on site of British Village 1832. Probably the same as above.
