Map

Moat north of Reed Farm, rectangular, in boggy area. Unusual earthworks to north including a large rectangular raised platform.
C.C. Taylor (RCHM) 10 February 1970 and A. Rogerson (NAU), January 1976.

'Two furlongs northwest of the church there is a barn, moated and had a good fishery belonging to it. Several foundations of old buildings supposed to have been the manor house. Workmen digging hole in 1812 found large old key much corroded, now in museum of Rev M. D. Driffield' (S3).
E. Rose (NAU).

From its pairing with site NHER 5065, this would seem to be the 'moat north of the river in Brays Meadow' mentioned in (S4), wrongly placed under Stanford and so formerly numbered NHER 13201 (no such field name on Stanford tithe map).
E. Rose (NAU), 18 November 1985.
