Summary

Upper Vaunce's Farmhouse is a plastered 17th century timber-frame house, with a steep slate roof with gabled ends. The building has two storeys and a brick chimney stack off centre, and the north side has been fronted with an early 19th century addition. This has two storeys in three bays, and a lean-to black glazed pantile roof. The central doorway has a moulded architrave with cornice and panelled door.

Upper Vaunce's Farm was part of the 500 acres bought by the Admiralty in 1912 to create an Air Station for Air Ships for the protection of shipping lanes along the east coast in preparation for World War One. See (S3).
