Summary

Between 1975 and 2014 undated fragments of shell and a quern stone; Roman and post-medieval pottery sherds; post-medieval roof tile fragments and clay tobacco pipe fragments and Early Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects were recovered as stray finds and through metal-detecting. The metal finds include an Early Saxon girdle hanger; a medieval/post-medieval lead weight and a post-medieval furniture fitting. Aerial photography of this site has also revealed cropmarks relating to a Roman road, possible long barrow and ring ditch and a Royal Observer Corps post. These are now recorded under NHER 30288, 53339 and 53340-3.

March 2009. Norfolk NMP.
This number now only relates the findspot. The cropmarks are now recorded under separate numbers. The possible long barrow is now NHER 53340 and the ring ditch is NHER 53339. The Roman road is now NHER 30288 and the boundaries and fields likely to be contemporary with the Roman road. NHER 53343 is a rectangular enclosure and associated fields of possible Iron Age date. The Royal Observer Corps (ROC) monitoring post is now recorded NHER 53342. All unphased and undated cropmarks are recorded under NHER 53341.
