The site of a World War Two type 22 pillbox and associated military structure located on the crest of a hill to the north of Long Lane, Upper Stoke is visible on aerial photographs (S2). The site is centred on TG 2481 0233. The type 22 pillbox was located at TG 2480 0233. An additional square or rectangular structure is located to the west, alongside a small slit trench or practice trench. A sub-rectangular area of uncultivated ground, with possible traces of the former presence of a structural base, may indicate a third structure that has been removed by this date.
