This is one of four turnstiles to the footpaths centering on the church. It dates to the mid 19th century and is of cast and wrought iron, with spear shaped metal railings.

"Turnstile and railings adjacent to well head, Springwell Road.
One of four turnstiles to footpaths centreing on church. Mid 19th century. Cast and wrought iron. Spear shaped metal railings with plain cross shaped turnstile flanked by curved sections of railings."
