Summary

A former stables with coach house and attached gate posts, built in the early 19th century from gault brick with slate roofs and rear walls in red brick. The building is constructed in three blocks arranged symmetrically around an open-sided courtyard, the south block being slightly taller and possessing a single archway, in comparison to the west block with three archways. The gateway is attached to the north side of west block and has brick piers with ashlar cornices and ball finials.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Early 19th century. Gault brick with slate roofs. Rear walls in red brick. Three blocks arranged symmetrically around an open-sided courtyard. East block former stables with three-centred central archway flanked by two pairs of windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits. South block slightly taller with one segmental archway, one window with glazing bars beneath a skewback arch with cambered soffit and one doorway. West block with three three-centred archways with raised stone keystones and two-leaf boarded doors. Boarded door and two-light casement window beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits to side. Hipped roofs. Gateway attached to north side of west block. Brick piers with ashlar cornice and ball finials. Included for group value."
