Summary

This house dates to the late 17th century with later alterations. It is built from a rendered timber-frame with a corrugated iron roof covering thatch. The building has a three-unit plan, with the roof of the central unit slightly higher. To the rear is lean-to extension with a pantile roof. Inside, the principal elements of the timber frame are visible with chamfered bridging beams, with ogee and run-out stops to the chamfers. A secondary late 18th century/early 19th century ladder stair with simple rail to first floor of left unit is a rare survival. In essence this is a little-altered timber-framed farmhouse.
