Summary

A terrace of four early 19th century flint and brick cottages. Reused medieval stonework has been noted in the east wall of the cottage adjacent to Bailey Street.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Terrace of four cottages. Early 19th century. Knapped flint rubble, gault brick dressings, red pantiles. Four two-storey, two-bay cottages. Four ground and four first floor wooden framed sashes with glazing bars, two first-floor blank plastered window openings."
Included for group value with the Bailey Gate attached at east (NHER 46817).

9 November 1994. Field Observation.
There is reused medieval stonework in the houses themselves, mostly in the east wall against Bailey Street and the quoins of the adjacent garden wall.
The houses have flint facades and are listed in (S1) as early 19th century.
Previously noted under NHER 1129, which details archaeological observations made during groundworks in the gardens of these properties.
