Summary

The Round House is a mid-to-late 18th century cottage that was originally built as a tea-room and organ room with pleasure grounds for Catherine Styleman (1724-1793) who married Nicholas Styleman of Snettisham Old Hall (NHER 1561) in 1752. The building itself is of coursed and squared carstone with some rubble faced blocks standing proud which may have been used as a dovecote. This single storey building has an attic inserted in the roog, and is pentagonal in plan with a hipped roof, and built in the Gothick style.
